本试验基地主要经营以绿化苗木为主，包括当年扦插的幼苗和一年或几年的成苗。我试验基地担负着中间试验，环境释放和苗木推广任务。 其中，转基因抗虫741杨杀虫效果理想，遗传工程体系安全为1级等优点，荣获了技术发明二等奖（详情见：河北林果研究第16卷期97-117页）。 原741杨是河北林学院以毛白杨为父本以银白杨为母本的杂交种，经20多年选育出的优良无性系，形态酷似毛白杨，经区域试验适生范围、抗逆性均优于毛白杨，材积生长量超过毛白杨30%-50%，材质是杨树中者，为败育雌株，无絮飞扬。 我基地还常年供应大量的绿化小苗：金叶女贞、大叶黄杨等。
